MWF & T/Th AM Preschool
Teacher: Kristie Speir
Personal Background:
I recently returned home to Spokane after living in Oregon for more than ten years and in Texas for a short amount of time. I graduated from Mead High School and WSU, where I received a BA in Education. I also have an Early Childhood Endorsement. I have gained valuable experience working as a substitute teacher here at North Wall as well as in the public schools in Spokane and Oregon. I also taught all-day Kindergarten for two years before being blessed with the amazing opportunity to stay home with my two daughters, Hailee and Mia. I spend most of my spare time enjoying volunteering in my daughters’ classes, watching my oldest play soccer and participating in activities with my extended family. I have enjoyed returning to my roots as an educator and am excited to be working at North Wall.
Personal Teaching Philosophy:
As an educator I believe it is my role to acknowledge and understand that every child is an unique and talented individual. It is my responsibility to provide a learning environment that nurtures and encourages each child’s strengths providing them with the opportunity to feel successful. My classroom will be a warm, loving and positive environment that will encourage the development of life-long learners. Materials and lessons presented to the children will be developmentally appropriate and will encourage each child to learn at their own pace.
