Personal
Background: My husband, Mel, and I have been married for 36 years and have four children and one grandchild. I grew up in northern Minnesota, the oldest of six children. I attended Gustavus Adolphus College for two years with a focus in English and Chemistry. Our children were all home-schooled. That journey was the most significant and rewarding learning experience of my life. Before joining the North Wall staff I taught children (birth through kindergarten) in my private in-home day care for 12 years. I am currently enrolled in early childhood education classes at Spokane Falls Community College and will begin work on a Child Development Associate certification in the fall.
Philosophy of Teaching:I see each child as a unique individual and I believe in catering to every child's specific needs in order to stimulate and encourage healthy growth in a fun, safe, and loving environment. My classroom will be filled with nothing but unconditional love and postive learning experiences that encourage physical, cognitive, social, emotional, and creative development. Each child will be given the optimum learning experience to become loving, accepting, and creative individuals.
