Multi-Age Kindergarten
Teacher: Heather McDonell
Personal Background: I graduated from WSU with a BA in Elementary Education in 2004. I have been working at North Wall Schools since then, minus a little hiatus last year, in order to work on my Masters Degree at EWU. During that time I was not only a student, but a substitute teacher both at North Wall and District 81. In addition to teaching and learning. I am planning my wedding to Jason Campbell in September!
Philosophy of Teaching: I believe that each child is special and has unique talents, needs, abilities, and interests. When children are encouraged, supported, they thrive. Every child should be treated with love, kindness, and respect. With this nurturing support, along with providing a consistent, developmentally appropriate and positive classroom environment, I believe that all children are capable of meeting their goals. I believe children should be encouraged to become self-managers. Children need to be allowed to experience mistakes and successes by their initiation. Each child in our classroom is part of a community of learners in which we all work together to learn and grow!

- To keep the love of learning alive and nurtured in every child
- To promote respect to self and others
- To provide a positive sense of self
- To provide developmentally appropriate, interesting, and challenging activities
