Multi-Age Preschool

Teacher:  Melissa Struthers

Personal Background: My name is Melissa Struthers. I was born and raised in Colorado and graduated from Mesa College. I have an AA in Early Childhood Education and a BA in Elementary Education. I have experience working with toddlers through third graders. I experienced a wide variety of educational situations and worked with superintendents, teachers, technology personnel, paraprofessionals and students as an Education Consultant across the US and Canada.

Philosophy of Teaching: I believe all children can learn and will succeed in an environment that honors and respects each child's individual learning style. I believe strongly that a teacher must meet every child at their cognitive, social, emotional, and physical level. It is my hope that all children I meet feel valued and appreciated in our classroom.

Goals for the Class: The Multi-age preschool will be an environment that is safe and secure. It will provide developmentally appropriate learning activities that will facilitate growth cognitively, socially, emotionally, spiritually, and physically. Each child will be valued, appreciated, and celebrated. Hands-on learning and an environment in which children learn from both the teachers and one another will be encouraged.
