Toddler Teacher:

Karen Kennedy

Personal Background:
I was born and raised in Spokane, Washington. I received my AAS degree in Early Childhood Education with a certificate in Child Development from Miramar College in San Diego Ca. while my husband was stationed there with the US NAVY. I chose the Early Childhood Field because I wanted children to have their first experience with school  be a positive one.
I have three grown children a daughter and two sons who all live in Southern Calif.
In my spare time I like to sew, cook and read and I am practicing my novice gardening skills.

Philosophy of Teaching:
As an educator, I want to provide a respectful, safe, and nurturing environment that will help children recognize their talents and strengths.  Each child comes to school with unique backgrounds, abilities and interests and it is my responsibility to utilize this information to plan specific activities to meet their needs.  My goal is to provide a supportive environment in which the students have the confidence to learn through exploration with the assistance and encouragement from their teachers and peers.
