Ages of Children: 3-5 years
Personal Background: I received a BA in Education from WSU with an Early Childhood Endorsement. I taught all-day Kindergarten for two years, and this is my second year teaching the AM Preschool & PreKin at North Wall. I spend most of my spare time enjoying volunteering in my daughters’ classes, watching my oldest play soccer and participating in activities with my extended family. I have enjoyed returning to my roots as an educator and am excited to be working at North Wall.
Philosophy of Teaching: I believe it is my role to acknowledge that every child is a unique and talented individual. It is my responsibility to provide a learning environment that nurtures and encourages each child’s strengths and provides the opportunity for each child to feel successful. Also, I will provide a warm, loving and positive environment that encourages the development of life-long learners and lessons and materials which stimulate different areas of the brain as well as accommodate multiple learning styles encouraging each child to learn at his/her pace.
Goals for the Class:
- To guide children in social, emotional, physical, intellectual, and spiritual growth.
- To promote a positive sense of self and others.
- To encourage creativity and imagination.
- To provide hands-on learning and an environment in which children learn from both the teachers and one another
