Personal Background: I worked full time for Campus Crusade for Christ for 12 years.  Then, I moved with my family to the Philippines to serve as missionaries.  While there, I taught at Faith Academy Davao, an international Christian school.  Upon returning to the States, I earned a Masters in Teaching degree from Whitworth University.  I have worked for five years in the Mead School District, substitute teaching for three years and teaching at Midway Elementary for two years.  This is my first year at North Wall, and I am delighted to be here!

Philosophy of Teaching: My vision is to help each student become an effective life-long learner and problem-solver who pursues personal excellence in all areas, while appreciating and caring about others in the process.

Goals for the Class:

  • Nurture the love of learning in each child
  • Promote independent learning
  • Help students gain success in self-discipline
  • Help students grow in their strengths & interests
  • Promote respect of self, others, and our environment
  • Provide challenging and interesting, developmentally appropriate activities
  • Provide a positive educational experience

9:00 - Morning Meeting

               (Morning News, Calendar, Introduction Activity, Introduction to Learning Centers)

9:30 - Literacy Block + Morning Snack

(Individual Reading Instruction & Themed Learning Centers:  Literacy, Art, Computer,Writing, Listening & Social Studies) 

10:45 - Clean Up + Project Sharing         

11:00 - Recess  

11:20 - Wash Hands/Prayer

11:30 - Lunch

12:00 - Recess

12:30 - Afternoon Meeting & Silent Reading

12:45 - Math Circle

 1:00 – Math & Science Block

2:30 - PE (M,W, F) Music (T,TH)

3:00 - Closing
