 Teacher/Child Ratio: 1:12

 Maximum Class Size: 12

 Ages of Children: 5-8 years

Personal Background:

I moved to Spokane in the fall of 2012 to start my higher education at Whitworth University, and I have decided to stay!  In December 2015 I received my BA Iin Elementary Education with a reading endorsement, as well as a music minor.  Originally, I was a music major with my sights set on teaching high school choir, but a kindergarten class pointed my heart toward elementary education.  For the remainder of the 2015-2016 school year, I substituted in the Mead and Spokane School Districts, and began my teaching experience at North Wall in the summer of 2016.  I enjoy crocheting, reading, hiking, and music in my spare time.

Philosophy of Teaching:

I know that each student is a unique person, and that every student has a different way of learning and growing.  I believe that students will be successful when discovering and exploring new concepts with the support of their teacher and their peers through collaboration and friendship.

Goals for the Class:

  • Nurture the love of learning in each child
  • Promote independent learning
  • Help students gain success in self-discipline
  • Help students grow in their strengths & interests
  • Promote respect of self, others, and our environment
  • Provide challenging and interesting, developmentally appropriate activities
  • Provide a positive educational experience
