LITERACY, READING & SPELLING
Each student is offered a leveled reading and spelling program that accommodates his/her learning style and achievement level. We use McGraw Hill as our core reading & writing curriculum and supplement it with a variety of other resources.
MATH & SCIENCE
Math includes individual instruction using McGraw Hill curriculum and learning centers that encourage explorations of math concepts using manipulatives and games. We investigate several different themes throughout the year.
CREATIVE ARTS
Students explore various mediums for self-expression and learn various elements of art. They study techniques of great artists and try to emulate them.
SOCIAL STUDIES & GEOGRAPHY
Learning about people, environments, communities, and geographical locations is acquired through songs, stories, maps, books, newspapers, interviews, current events, field trips, library research, and the internet.
MUSIC
We teach music appreciation by exposing the students to a variety of composers and types of music from various cultures. Students participate in a variety of songs, rhythm activities and dances.
PHYSICAL EDUCATION
Our P.E. program includes cooperative games, sports, and a variety of skill areas.
SPANISH
Students learn basic Spanish vocabulary and simple sentences, songs and customs every Friday morning when a native Spanish speaker comes in to assist the K-3 Teacher in teaching Spanish.
TECHNOLOGY
Students learn to research topics on the internet, use spell check and grammar check and various publishing programs to publish their reports. Also, they learn to create forms and graphs to document scientific research
